Here&#8217;s what you need to do&#8230;Promise yourself that you&#8217;ll spend 30 uninterrupted minutes each day working on the marketing part of your mortgage business. Set aside a 30 minute block of time. Turn off your cell phone. Checking your email and surfing the Internet is not allowed. Answering the phone is not allowed. Out bound calls are allowed. Use a timer or alarm because clock watching is not allowed either.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
The next 30 minutes are your marketing minutes, so make the most of this time. Here are but a few suggestions on how to spend those precious 30 minutes:</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
1. Update your database information,<br />&#13;<br />
2. Critique and improve your web page,<br />&#13;<br />
3. Write a few &#8220;Thank You&#8221; notes or cards,<br />&#13;<br />
4. Write a mortgage article for your website,<br />&#13;<br />
5. Review and improve your advertising copy,<br />&#13;<br />
6. Create a new direct mail piece or marketing flier,<br />&#13;<br />
7. Write and send your press release to a media outlet,  <br />&#13;<br />
8. Schedule a lunch or two with your mortgage contacts,<br />&#13;<br />
9. Write a mortgage &#8220;white paper&#8221; to be used as a give away, <br />&#13;<br />
10. Set up appointments with mortgage prospects or customers,<br />&#13;<br />
11. Organize a drip marketing system using postcards for your niche,<br />&#13;<br />
12. Touch base with the Realtor/Agents that you exchange leads with,<br />&#13;<br />
13. Edit your marketing material such as your fliers or tri-fold brochure,<br />&#13;<br />
14. Review and evaluate the results of the niche you are promoting and marketing,<br />&#13;<br />
15. Study and determine the results you&#8217;re receiving from your mortgage advertising.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
If you&#8217;re on a roll with your 30 minutes, by all means take advantage of the situation, and carry on a while longer. There&#8217;s nothing magic about the 30 minute mark. You can make it 20 minutes or 45 minutes. Just make the commitment and focus on the task you have chosen.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Schedule your 30 minute marketing period every day and over time, you&#8217;ll see some pretty significant results. Incidentally, this little technique works for other chores you&#8217;ve been putting off.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
You&#8217;ll notice in all of this, there&#8217;s nothing mentioned about reading your FHA manual, or the marketing book you just purchased, or the self improvement book that&#8217;s been sitting on your book shelf the last year or so. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Yes, I&#8217;m very much a believer in continuing education and self improvement. There&#8217;s no doubt you need to allocate time every day to do these things too. But, this 30 minute block of time we are scheduling is your &#8220;marketing time&#8221; and has a direct bearing on your loan originations, your pipeline and your bank account. Start this little program today, your mortgage marketing success depends on it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Using article writing on the internet to promote internet website and business became fashionable because of the demand by the major search engines, (especially Google. com) that a website must have one-way links in order to have link popularity and have the chance of getting a high page rank and top 10 ranking. &#13;</p>
<p>Many webmasters and online business owners began writing and posting articles at thousands of article directories and websites. &#13;</p>
<p>After a couple of years of this article writing mania, many internet marketers discovered a bitter truth: even though they have written and posted many articles on topics relevant to their online businesses and have obtained hundreds of one way links, they were still not getting high page ranks and top 10 rankings (as promised by the Search engines. )&#13;</p>
<p>Even in some cases where a few internet marketers noticed a slight increase in page rank and top 10 ranking, they disappeared after a few months when the search engines updated their databases. &#13;</p>
<p>Many internet marketers and website owners began to wonder what might be wrong with article writing promotion and why it was not generating floods of website traffics like it was supposed to. &#13;</p>
<p>The reasons are:&#13;</p>
<p>Many of the article directories where they post their articles hardly promote their directories.  &#13;</p>
<p>If they do not, then the articles are not exposed to the search engines in order to be found when prospects search for information on the products and services using the search engines. &#13;</p>
<p>When people desire to shop online, most do not go to article directories.  &#13;</p>
<p>Instead, they use the search engines to search for what they desire. &#13;</p>
<p>If your article about a product or service, which you are promoting, does not appear among the top 20 search engine results, you may not get any traffics at all. &#13;</p>
<p>It is possible that virtually nobody is reading your articles.  &#13;</p>
<p>If that is so, how can you get any website traffics from them?&#13;</p>
<p>Most likely, the only people who go to article directories are other internet marketers who go there to post their own articles. &#13;</p>
<p>And they must be newbies.  &#13;</p>
<p>The old timers use article poster softwares to post their articles automatically. &#13;</p>
<p>And even if both the newbies and old timers have time to read your articles, unless your articles are on the homepage, in the front page or on top of the other articles, they will not see or read them. &#13;</p>
<p>Most article directories have hundreds of thousands of articles in hundreds of different topics. &#13;</p>
<p>Nobody will have the time to read these hundreds of thousands of articles and have the sufficient interest to go to your website, not to mention placing an order for your products or services. &#13;</p>
<p>Most of these people are webmasters and internet marketers trying to post articles to generate one-way links to get high page ranks. &#13;</p>
<p>They are not targeted prospects or buyers for your products/services because they are sellers!&#13;</p>
<p>So even if out of curiosity they see your website on the front page (homepage) and click and go there, it is unlikely they will buy from you. &#13;</p>
<p>The reason is that even if you have what they may need such as a website promotion software, they will most likely prefer to clone your software and create their own and market it and get rich than to buy it from you. &#13;</p>
<p>Moreover, most webmasters and internet marketers have hundreds of websites and do not have any time to waste reading other peoples’ articles. &#13;</p>
<p>And chances are that they may already know the topic you are writing about. &#13;</p>
<p>By the way, just because your article is on top or in the front page of the website does not mean that it will automatically be read and the readers will flock to your website. &#13;</p>
<p>Your article have to be informative, interesting and relevant to what the reader is looking for in order to generate enough interest in him/her to click and go to your website. &#13;</p>
<p>Besides, at your website, you must have exactly what he/she desires and it must be priced rightly for him/her to place an order.    &#13;</p>
<p>As if these are not enough problems, the search engines are very tricky. &#13;</p>
<p>They demand that you get one-way links in order for them to consider you an authority website so that they can give you a high page rank and include you in the top 10 rankings so that you may begin getting website traffics from them. &#13;</p>
<p>So, you wrote many articles and posted at the article directories. &#13;</p>
<p>In about a week, they published them and you will automatically got one-way links from hundreds of websites. &#13;</p>
<p>But instead of the search engines honoring their promise, they would declare that your hundreds of articles and one-way links are duplicate articles and links and therefore invalid and so they would NOT give you the high page ranks and top 10 ranking which they promised you. &#13;</p>
<p>So, assuming you have been writing and posting articles daily for about 1 yr, by then you might likely have at least 20,000 websites with your articles published there and thousands of one way links. &#13;</p>
<p>But to your horror, you would discover that the search engines did not recognize these thousands of links and if you checked your links with them, you would be horrified to notice that out of about 1000 links, they might have recognized may be 10 links, while the rest were considered duplicate and invalid. &#13;</p>
<p>Therefore, because of all these problems, would it be safe to conclude that  using article writing to promote your website and online business is dead and do not work anymore?&#13;</p>
<p>No. &#13;</p>
<p>It still works. &#13;</p>
<p>But you need to know and apply a few creative twists to doing it. &#13;</p>
<p>Here are some of them:&#13;</p>
<p>(1) When writing an article, choose a topic, which has a mass appeal so that hundreds of thousands of people will be searching for the information, which would lead them to find your article in the search engines. &#13;</p>
<p>(2) The articles, which most people write, are terrible.  &#13;</p>
<p>The reason is that many people are not natural writers.  &#13;</p>
<p>They have been forced to write articles so they may use them to promote their websites and online businesses.  &#13;</p>
<p>Therefore, if you are not a natural creative and interesting writer, hire one and give him/her the topics and keywords relevant to your websites to write short, informative and interesting articles for you.  &#13;</p>
<p>There are so many good services online.  &#13;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Are Spiders Affecting Your Mortgage Marketing Results?&#13;</p>
<p>Yes. . . there are bugs that can affect your marketing and you don&#8217;t need a pest exterminator to resolve the problem.  Now, if you&#8217;re a little lost at this point that&#8217;s OK. . . this article is definitely for you and may explain why you&#8217;re not generating any mortgage leads from your website. &#13;</p>
<p>What are Spiders?&#13;</p>
<p>Spiders are software programs that are specifically designed to crawl the World Wide Web, gather data (hence the term Spider) and then send it back to their databases.  This is how Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, Alta Vista, and a host of others, gather data about you, me, and our websites.  They constantly travel the Internet collecting data and sending it back to their parent database. &#13;</p>
<p>Using the Google Spider as an example, when the Spider finds your website it will look for key words that indicate the purpose of the website.  It may find &#8220;mortgage,&#8221; or &#8220;first time homebuyer,&#8221; or &#8220;refinance,&#8221; and it then sends that information back to Google coupled with your website address.  Google evaluates, rates, and then indexes the information it receives and now your website (www. yourname. com) is listed in the Google database as having something to do with &#8220;mortgage&#8221; and &#8220;first time homebuyer&#8221; and &#8220;refinance,&#8221; simply because those words appeared on your web pages. &#13;</p>
<p>Just as a side note. . . The Google Spider is so efficient and so thorough, that your website will be indexed and listed in as little as three days (usually seven to ten days) after you post content on your web page.  &#13;</p>
<p>Now. . . every time someone uses a search engine and types in &#8220;mortgage&#8221; or &#8220;first time homebuyer,&#8221; or &#8220;refinance,&#8221; your website pops up in the search results and your shopper can click on your link and then visit your website. &#13;</p>
<p>Sorry. . . I&#8217;m afraid not!&#13;</p>
<p>Consider this. . . the last time I used Google with &#8220;mortgage&#8221; as the search term, it took . 19 seconds to return 154,000,000 results.  Therein lies the problem. . . there are just too many web pages.  There&#8217;s no point having your web page ranked 153,999,067, because people just aren&#8217;t going to find you before their eyes begin to fail. &#13;</p>
<p>You need improve your rankings and move your web page closer to the top.  Spiders use a code called relevancy.  Relevancy means that if your website doesn&#8217;t have the word &#8220;mortgage&#8221; anywhere then your page won&#8217;t come up when someone types &#8220;mortgages&#8221; or &#8220;first time homebuyers&#8221; in the search string. &#13;</p>
<p>The key to being found in cyberspace is developing a site that is friendly to Spiders.  If you want to be placed at the top of search engines for mortgage customers, then you need to make it easy for a Spider to log you and your relevance.  Easy to log means having your key words like &#8220;mortgage&#8221; and &#8220;first time homebuyers&#8221; appear throughout your web page.  If a Spider compares two web pages to determine relevancy rankings, which site would be ranked higher, a site that had the word &#8220;mortgage&#8221; appear once, or one where &#8220;mortgage&#8221; appears numerous times near the beginning of the page?&#13;</p>
<p>Now, you need to be careful here.  If you flood your site with key words just to be found, most Spiders can recognize that old trick and it&#8217;s very possible that you&#8217;ll be penalized and your site will be black-balled and erased from the database.  One nice thing about Spiders. . . once they find you, they continually return to your web page checking and documenting changes you may have made since the last visit.  You&#8217;ll find some Spiders (Google for example), returns to your site every single day, collects data and analyzes it. &#13;</p>
<p>Although the actual logarithm used by the Spiders is a deep dark secret (much like the Coke recipe), we do know that the following points are an integral part of the equation:&#13;</p>
<p>Relevancy &#8211; Is your website dedicated to selling cars and trucks, home improvement supplies, or mortgages.  Your key words indicate to the Spider the website&#8217;s purpose. &#13;</p>
<p>Key word density and frequency &#8211; How many times your key words appear and exactly how they appear is important to Spiders.  Remember, key word flooding is a no no. &#13;</p>
<p>Content and information &#8211; Spiders follow all the links on your website indexing the information and articles you have placed there as well as additions, deletions, and changes.  You need to talk about mortgages and not how great you and your company are.  The more content the better. &#13;</p>
<p>Links pointing back to your website &#8211; Back links are extremely important to Spiders and can improve your website ranking significantly.  Writing and publishing mortgage articles is definitely the answer.  Don&#8217;t forget to include your resource box with a link back to your website.  Articles not only provide back links, they provide valuable content improving your website&#8217;s position.  Use your City and State in your article title and you&#8217;ll improve it even more. &#13;</p>
<p>Some studies have shown that over 95% of all who have access to the Internet use Search Engines to help find their information.  A good first step is to design and implement your website around the search terms your customers will be using and your chances of being found will increase dramatically.  </p>
